Dear Families,

On behalf of the PTO representatives, we thank you for your support during our Fun Run fundraiser conducted last September. Not only did we raise over $27,000 for our school, but the students walked over 16,000 laps: equivalent to 2,055 miles! Thank you for your monetary support for our school and staff, which ultimately benefits our children!

Following the collection of all money and the PTO sponsored Gingerbread House at Christmas, teachers were given an opportunity to submit requests for resources that would specifically be purchased from the proceeds of the Fun Run. The PTO representatives met with Mr. Trice and Mrs. Sampson to discuss where the money would best be directed.  The following list provides you with information on the dispersing of some of that money:

• 28 classroom teachers/$100 per account
• Special teachers/$50 per account
• PE Equipment
• Science lab Microscope and supplies
• Art supplies – scanner to scan artwork into computer
• Library funds to purchase book collection about the Solar System
• Musical instruments
• Headphones for Rolling Computer Lab
• DVD recorder to convert VHS tapes to DVD
• Promethean Board & Activote System
• Study Island
• Wireless Audio System
• Buzzer System
• ESL – AR Tests
• Extend – printer cartridges for printer

In addition to these specific requests, the money raised also funds several expenses throughout the year: Principal’s List and Honor Roll treats (3 times per year), copier maintenance, Gingerbread House, Spring Fling, Teacher Appreciation, and the starting supplies needed for the new school year.
