Awards, Field Day, Behavior Reward, Report Cards

Monday we will be on a regular schedule. My personal children have some awards and other activities that day so I will be gone from school. Please remind your child to be on his or her best behavior that day.

Tuesday is Field Day and also Reward Day for positive behavior. Your child should know if he or she is able to participate in the behavior reward for this nine weeks on Monday. I will leave a list for the substitute. For Field Day the students are welcome to bring a special drink for the afternoon or lunch.

Wednesday is awards day, it will be held at 11:05 in the gym. This will be awards for both the 4th nine weeks and the year.

If you would like for me to put your child’s report in the mail to you please send in a stamped self addressed normal envelope. Since we have gone to the electronic gradebooks, report cards are printed out on typical paper so brown manila envelopes aren’t necessary. If you would rather come by and pick up the card you may do so Friday after 1PM or Saturday morning between the hours of 8-10.

Hummmmmm…. I think that is all for now……..

Thank you!

This has been an awesome week full of wonderful surprises that has made me feel very APPRECIATED! Your thoughtfulness was very touching. I hope everyone has a beautiful Mother’s Day weekend!

Letters Home

Your child is probably receiving various types of letters each day for you to read. Today a letter went home regarding teacher’s wish lists. Another letter was about immunizations needed for 7th grade. A third note is about upcoming guidance lessons about puberty and body changes. Please ask your child daily if they have any notes to share with you so that you will be well informed.

BEHAVIOR: While most of our young ladies are behaving very maturely and well,  the behavior of many of the young gentleman has taken a leap straight into Spring fever! Mr. Trice met with all of the 5th grade boys yesterday and warned them of severe consequences for misbehavior. In order to end the year on a very positive note, misbehavior of any type will not be tolerated and will be dealt with quickly. Behavior reward for the final nine weeks is approaching and we certainly want everyone to be able to participate. If you have a male student in the fifth grade now would be the time to remind him of the expectations for positive behavior! We’ve had a good year up to this point so let’s finish strong (and happy!)

Thanks for your help,

Mrs. Belcher

PTO

The PTO is in need of volunteers for this week’s Teacher Appreciation activities. Please call the school(444-2483) and find out in which areas you may be of service. Also, a note is going home today about the activities planned for this week.

Monday’s trip to the park

We will walk to the park on Monday at 11:00. In the past we have walked from our school but it is my understanding that this year will ride the school buses from here to Jimmy Floyd. From there we will walk to the park using the paved paths. You are very welcome to join us if you would like! We will play for a while then picnic. (Sometime around 12) I do not know where our designated lunch pavilion will be yet. Students are allowed to bring a drink of some type and an extra water if they want. Around 2:00 we will walk back to Jimmy Floyd and ride the buses back to school.

Remember NO SCHOOL tomorrow, Friday May 4th!

Tomorrow Afternoon… Homeroom

This is a copy of the letter I will send home with students today. Please let me know if you have any objections……. my homeroom ONLY!

Wednesday April 25, 2012

Dear Parents,

TCAP is almost over! Tomorrow is the Social Studies portion so I hope you will take some time to review with your child tonight. The reward for best effort tomorrow will be an extra long recess and then a movie. I am thinking about showing War Horse. It is rated PG-13 . The 13 rating is  for the war scenes, there is absolutely no nudity and very little foul language.

If  you DO NOT want your child to watch the movie just write me a short note below., you child will go to another classroom and watch a different movie. Also the students can bring a snack for movie time. Carbonated beverages are ok for this one afternoon.

Thanks! They have worked hard and deserve a pat on the back!
