Castle Heights Upper Elementary School is the newest addition to the Lebanon Special School District. This state of the art facility opened its doors to students in the spring of 1997. CHUE currently serves students in grades five through six. CHUE believes that every student can learn. The opportunity is given to each child to reach his/her potential and to establish a foundation for lifelong learning. Our faculty is dedicated to helping our students achieve these goals by a combination of technology, school and community cooperation, and teaching to the students' different learning styles.

CHUE has self-contained classrooms, with Physical Education classes two times a week and music and art once a week. The Media Center and Technology Center have a flexible schedule. Classes have the Science Lab scheduled for their use once every week with a certified teacher in there. EXTEND classes for the gifted/talented students meet weekly. Activities available to students are: band, girls and boys basketball teams, drama club, math club, chess club, and storytelling club. The school also has a Language Arts Festival which involves the entire student body.

The education of our students is a cooperative effort, involving school, home, and community. We are developing supportive attitudes between parents, teachers, administration, and students. Our faculty members strive to be positive role models for our students. The integration of Physical Education and the Arts in our curriculum enhances the total education of the child. We encourage student success within the school environment, creating in the child higher expectations for his/her future.
